I can't imagine February being this scorchingly hot. It's like the start of summer already. Can't complain much though. We rather had heat than storms, right? Besides, January was great while it lasted. My Neal Shusterman month was fun and interesting.
- Skinjacker Trilogy by Neal Shusterman - 4 stars - A wonderful take on life after death.
- What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Raymond Carver - 4 stars - TFG book of the month. A very interesting and profound way to talk about love.
- The Schwa Was Here by Neal Shusterman - 4 stars - I fell for Antsy Bonano quick enough.
- Antsy Does Time by Neal Shusterman - 4 stars - this book is all heart, truly.
For February, I've chosen a writer close to my heart...
- The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
- The Midnight Palace by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
- The Watcher in the Shadows (Las Luces de Septiembre) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Hi, Louize! Have you read any of CRZ's books for children? I've heard from so many people that his children's books do not come close to his The Shadow of the Wind, which is one of my all-time favorite books ever!
ReplyDeleteI miss Zafon, too! His best work though, is still The Shadow of the Wind. :) These subsequent works are just okay, for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Peter and Monique!
ReplyDeleteI believe this is Zafon's only other trilogy. This is not as compelling as the The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, but his prose is as engaging. Maybe because these were his first creations. Practice makes perfect, right? I am almost done with the first book, and it's creepy. :)
I have never read any of Zafron's books, so I voted to Shadow of the Wind for TFG's April book of the month.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, let's go a dancing with dragons! :)
Hi, Tin! I am really excited with ADWD buddy reading, I want to hear all your theories and such.
