January to June
I am out of practice for almost 20 years, but using a ballpoint pen for this doodle wasn't that bad, right? (You’ll be doing me a great service by agreeing, thank you! ❤) I wanted to say I made this because it was raining earlier and that I wanted to kill some time, buuuut that would be a huge lie. I was inspired by my friends who posted their own Best Half for 2013 and sort of promised myself that I’d post mine too. So in no particular order, here they are:
- Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
- The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
- Gilead by Marilynne Robinson
- The Sense of An Ending by Julian Barnes
- What Darkness Brings by C.S. Harris
- Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
- Hope was Here by Joan Bauer
- The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster
I strongly feel that I needed to add this even though I've read this on the 1st of July:
- Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
Oooh, this is fun. If you like this list, maybe you’ll like my friends’ list even better:
Great books, Mommy L. I really hope to find a copy of The New York Trilogy soon. Whenever I think of it, I remember you. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to say that this is the most creative midyear report! I love the artistry of it. It makes me really jealous (I draw like a 5-year-old kid).
ReplyDeleteSweety, you do know that you only need to say the words and my copy is yours, right? ♥
DeleteWell since I am waaaay older than you, I draw like a 10-year old. (hehehehe) I did this while watching The Legend of Korra Season 1, which what probably invoked my childishness. :)
Ang cuuuuute ng doodles! <3
ReplyDeleteI will keep an eye out for a copy of New York Trilogy. Thanks for the reco, Mommy Louize!
Thank you, Monique! :)
DeleteLouize!!! I am going gaga because of the artwork! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWoot woot for Hope Was Here.
Thank you, Peter! ❤
DeleteLovely doodles!(cutie mushroomy!) I think I may have Attachments on my TBR. The History of Love and Hope was Here sounds interesting too. I am a bit wary of Gilead. It isn't normally what I'd read but Lynai said it's pretty good. I am also afraid of The New York Trilogy because there are two words attached to it that makes me run for the hills: meta and post modern. Hihi. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tin.
DeleteMost readers are wary of The New York Trilogy. Metamystery is such a big word, right? But if you can manage to sidestep around that term, I promise you the book is quite interesting. :)
